Job Description

Front Desk Associate —
Schneider Tree Care Location:
Greenville, SC (In-Person)
Job Type:
Full-Time Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Pay:
$15-18/hr HEY! YOU! Yes, you. We're a work family that has fun, works hard, and doesn't take ourselves too seriously — but we're professional and always respectful. If you don't have a sense of humor or you're easily offended, this probably isn't the job for you, and that's okay. We do expect you to show up every day, on time, with a good attitude. This is real work, and it's a job you can really put down roots in — but you have to earn your keep. If you just want a J.O.B. to clock in and out of, keep scrolling — we're not that. Still here? Let's talk about the job. About Us Schneider Tree Care is a family-operated business established in 1996, specializing in tree care and landscaping services. Our roots run deep — 30 years in business, and we plan on branching out for 30 more.
About the Role Fair warning:
this is a phone-heavy job, inbound and outbound, all day long. If you don't genuinely love being on the phone, this isn't the one for you. If you do — keep reading, we might be a perfect match. What You'll Do Answer every inbound call — nicely. Ask good questions to figure out what someone needs, and either handle it yourself or send it to the right department. No leaf-ing people on hold or bouncing them around. Make outbound calls to past clients to help fill the schedule, and follow-up calls after jobs wrap up. Help out with outbound calls to Plant Health Care clients when needed. Take payments — over the phone and in person for walk-ins. Sort and distribute the mail. Send birthday cards and manage our client referral gift program. Keep an eye on office supplies — what's running low, what needs reordering. Log crew comment cards onto client accounts every month. Jump in on projects as they come up — checking accounts, working through lists, helping with whatever the team needs that week. Occasionally lend a hand with party planning. Keep the front desk organized, welcoming, and running smoothly. Be ready for duties to shift. People change, clients change, needs change — the only constant is change (kind of like the seasons). What We're Looking For A genuine love of being on the phone — this is non-negotiable, you'll be on it constantly Not afraid to make outbound or cold calls, and not afraid to ask questions A driver's license and reliable transportation (you've got to get here) A great attitude — nobody likes a curmudgeon, or a real sourpuss Someone who works well with others — we're a real family tree Thick skin, like bark — not easily offended Great attention to detail and solid organization skills — you'll juggle a lot of small moving pieces Good customer relations — listening, being kind, taking good notes Handles stress well and always looking for ways to help the team Strong work ethic — no putting off today's work for tomorrow Reliability — we've got a job to do, and if you're not here, someone else has to pick up the slack Drug-free (aspirin's fine) Why Join Us Paid vacation — you've earned it Paid holidays — nobody wants to work those anyway Retirement plan — for the long game Health insurance Weekly pay Competitive wages — $15-18/hr On-the-job training — we may do things differently than your last job A true family atmosphere (we don't fight like siblings — often) Climate-controlled, indoor work environment (leave the weather to the crews outside) Stability — we're well-rooted, 30 years in business and counting Genuinely great people to work with Ready to Apply? If you made it this far, congratulations — go ahead and apply. Don't leaf us hanging.
