Director of Human Resources Summary The Front Desk Intern is responsible for providing afternoon front desk coverage and general administrative support for the First Tennessee Development District. This position serves as a primary point of contact for visitors and callers and assists with maintaining an organized and professional office environment. The intern will gain practical experience in customer service, office administration, communication, and general business operations. Duties Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional manner and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member or department. Greet and assist visitors and walk-in clients and direct them to the appropriate staff member or program. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries. Assist with preparing and processing outgoing mail as needed. Utilize Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, to complete basic administrative and clerical tasks. Assist with copying, scanning, filing, data entry, and other general office duties. Maintain the front desk and lobby areas in a clean, organized, and professional manner. Assist with maintaining the staff kitchen, including keeping the area organized and restocking supplies as needed. Provide general administrative support to FTDD staff as requested. Maintain confidentiality regarding employee, client, program, and organizational information. Perform additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to answer telephone calls professionally and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, visitors, and members of the public. Ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment. Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately. Dependable and able to maintain a consistent Monday through Friday work schedule. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with FTDD staff. Education High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Applicant must be 18 to 24 years of age to meet grant eligibility requirements. The anticipated work schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 12:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. , up to approximately 21.25 hours per week . This is a temporary, part-time internship funded through a $3,000 grant . The position will continue based on hours worked and the availability of grant funds.
