The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role requires a blend of administrative skills, customer service, and a genuine love for animals. The Veterinary Receptionist will be responsible for managing client communications, scheduling appointments, and assisting with various administrative tasks while maintaining a focus on animal care. Duties Greet clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, appointments, and pet care. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Collect payments and manage medical collections as needed. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date. Assist veterinary staff with patient intake and preparation for examinations. Provide information to clients regarding pet care, including grooming, training, and general health tips. Handle animals safely and compassionately during their visits to the clinic. Maintain cleanliness in the reception area and assist with kennel duties as required. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not mandatory; however, familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential. Knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry, handling, restraint, and care practices is highly desirable. Experience with medical collection processes is beneficial. Skills in dog training, grooming, or critical care are advantageous for this role. Aseptic technique knowledge is a plus for assisting in clinical procedures. Laboratory experience or equine knowledge can enhance your candidacy. Strong communication skills combined with excellent customer service abilities are required to effectively interact with clients and team members.
