Job Description

The Receptionist is often the first point of contact for members, guests, prospective members, vendors, and visitors to The Amarillo Club. This position is responsible for providing a warm, professional, and welcoming experience while maintaining the high level of service and discretion expected of a private club. The ideal candidate is polished, personable, organized, dependable, and comfortable interacting with members and guests in a professional hospitality environment. The Receptionist should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a calm and welcoming presence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet and welcome members, guests, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously. Provide accurate information regarding Club events, dining, reservations, hours of operation, and general Club activities. Assist members with questions, requests, and basic service needs, directing matters to the appropriate department when necessary. Maintain a professional and welcoming appearance at the front desk and lobby area. Assist with member check-in and guest registration when applicable. Manage and maintain the Club's front desk, reception area, and related materials. Receive and distribute mail, packages, deliveries, and other correspondence. Maintain accurate records, logs, and daily front desk information. Assist with reservations, event information, and member communications as needed. Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Banquets, Accounting, Housekeeping, and Management to ensure member requests are handled efficiently. Assist with Club events, including greeting guests, providing directions, distributing event materials, and helping create a welcoming arrival experience. Maintain confidentiality regarding members, guests, Club business, and internal operations. Handle member concerns professionally and promptly, involving management when appropriate. Monitor and maintain awareness of activity in the lobby and reception areas. Perform basic administrative and clerical duties as assigned. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Club policies, procedures, facilities, services, and upcoming events. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Member Service Expectations The Receptionist is expected to consistently demonstrate the standards of The Amarillo Club by: Greeting members by name whenever possible. Providing prompt, courteous, and attentive service. Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. Demonstrating discretion and respect for member privacy. Anticipating member needs whenever possible. Remaining composed and professional during busy periods or challenging interactions. Representing The Amarillo Club positively in every interaction. Qualifications Previous experience in hospitality, private clubs, hotels, restaurants, country clubs, or a professional office environment preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and other basic office technology. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment. Ability to work effectively with members, guests, coworkers, vendors, and management. Physical Requirements Ability to remain seated or standing at the front desk for extended periods. Ability to walk throughout the Club as needed. Ability to occasionally lift or carry supplies, packages, or materials. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain attentive during periods of high activity. Schedule The position may require daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday availability based on Club operations, events, and member needs.
Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
