The front desk is an essential part of our clinic and often the first point of contact for our patients and families. We are looking for someone who provides excellent customer service, communicates professionally, pays close attention to detail, and can manage multiple responsibilities in a busy healthcare environment. Position Responsibilities Welcome patients, families, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to patient questions, take accurate messages, and route calls appropriately. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments while maintaining an organized provider schedule. Complete patient check-in and check-out procedures. Verify patient demographics, contact information, insurance coverage, and other required information. Perform insurance eligibility and benefit verification and identify coverage issues that may require additional follow-up. Collect and accurately enter patient information into the electronic health record. Communicate professionally with patients regarding appointments, required paperwork, referrals, and general office procedures. Scan, upload, organize, and maintain patient documents within the electronic health record. Assist with incoming medical records, forms, correspondence, and other administrative documentation. Maintain accurate and confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Monitor the daily appointment schedule and communicate scheduling concerns, cancellations, or other issues to the appropriate team member. Assist providers and clinical staff with administrative needs throughout the workday. Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming reception and front-office area. Complete additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous front desk experience in a medical, behavioral health, dental, or other healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong telephone etiquette and professional communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Ability to multitask in a busy medical office Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Experience using electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems Experience with insurance eligibility and verification systems Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Dependable attendance and professional workplace conduct Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred. Healthcare Front Desk Experience Preferred Candidates with previous experience in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: Medical or behavioral health front desk/reception Patient scheduling Insurance eligibility verification Medicaid and commercial insurance verification Electronic health records Patient registration and check-in/check-out Medical office administration Behavioral health or psychiatric office settings What We're Looking For We are seeking someone who is dependable, professional, patient, and genuinely enjoys helping people.
