Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Clinic Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help facilitate smooth clinic operations, from scheduling appointments to maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures Schedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Verify patient insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries with professionalism Manage incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette, addressing patient questions and directing calls appropriately Maintain and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies and accurate documentation review Assist with clinical documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and ensure proper coding for billing purposes Support medical office management tasks including filing, data entry, appointment confirmations, and electronic health records (EHR) management using systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech Handle health insurance claims processing and follow-up on unpaid accounts to optimize collections Maintain a clean, organized front desk area while managing multiple clerical tasks such as filing, typing (including 10 key typing), and data entry in Microsoft Office applications Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clinic experience Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred Familiarity with medical billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance processes including Medicare is essential Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic health records management software Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Prior clerical or administrative support experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable Join us in delivering outstanding patient care through energetic service and meticulous administrative support.
