The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, creating a welcoming environment while ensuring efficient daily office operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and previous experience working in a medical office. Essential Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Check patients in and out while verifying demographic and insurance information. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collect copays, deductibles, balances, and process patient payments. Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations when applicable. Scan, upload, and maintain accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times. Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative personnel. Respond to patient questions and resolve concerns with professionalism. Process incoming faxes, referrals, and medical records requests. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Perform additional administrative duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of front office experience in a medical practice. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Knowledge of medical insurance, copays, referrals, and prior authorizations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Previous experience in an orthopedic, spine, surgical, or specialty medical practice. Bilingual in English and Spanish . Familiarity with medical terminology.
