JOB SUMMARY

Answer inquiries and provide information to the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at Family Health Clinic. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Two years' experience in a health care business office preferred.

  • Electronic mail software — Microsoft Outlook
  • Medical software —Meditech
  • Office suite software —Microsoft Office
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
  • Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures.
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONTEXT
  • Requires extending periods of sitting, walking and standing, bending, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
  • Employees must occasionally lift/or move up to 25 pounds.
Indoors, Environmentally Controlled TASKS:
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of Muenster Hospital District
  • Maintains HIPAA required and all other confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
  • Follows guidelines and all policies and procedures of MHD including but not limited to safe and clean work environment and space.
  • Performs opening and closing duties of the Family Health Clinic.
  • Places, answers, and transfers calls and maintains phone logs.
  • Greets callers and visitors, answers general questions, and directs customers to appropriate staff.
  • Check patients in and out and ensure patient insurances and personnel information is correct.
  • Takes messages and Schedule appointments.
  • Provide, file or record forms and/or general information to patients and forwards completed forms to appropriate medical staff. Respond to patients problems or complaints.
  • Refers callers or visitors to services or resources at other agencies or organizations.
  • Count Cash Drawer in PM at closing.
  • Print Daily Appointment Schedule.
  • Verify Benefits for all patients that are scheduled for the day.
  • Make Mail run, go through mail and open, deliver it as needed.
  • Sort incoming faxes and fax records requests.
  • Stuff envelopes for statements and add postage to all mail.
  • Take payments for Co-pays and patient payments and post daily. Do cash discounts for Cash paying patients and apply when posting payments.
  • Posting of Daily cash received.
  • Make copies of all paperwork needed for patients
  • Answer phones
  • Call all patients for next day appointments
  • Run unapplied report and apply all unapplied payments.
  • All other duties as assigned.
