Job Description

Gray County Veterinary Clinic is seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play an important role in creating a positive experience for both pet owners and their animals. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and computer skills, and has experience working in a veterinary clinic or other animal health setting. This position supports our veterinarians and staff by managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, assisting clients, and maintaining accurate medical records. The successful candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional client service while supporting quality patient care. Responsibilities Welcome clients and their pets with a friendly, professional, and compassionate attitude. Answer a multi-line phone system, schedule appointments, respond to client questions, and direct calls appropriately. Check clients and patients in and out while maintaining accurate medical records. Process payments and client transactions accurately. Assist clients with prescription refill requests, medical records, and general inquiries. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding appointments, procedures, and hospital policies. Maintain confidentiality of client and patient information. Enter and maintain accurate patient information using the clinic's veterinary practice management software. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including filing, scanning, and record maintenance. Work closely with veterinarians and support staff to ensure efficient daily clinic operations.
Qualifications Required :
Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, boarding facility, animal shelter, or other animal health or animal care environment. Previous receptionist, client service, or administrative experience. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel), data entry, and the ability to quickly learn veterinary practice management software. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent phone etiquette and attention to detail. Comfortable working around dogs, cats, and other animals. Reliable, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
