When you join our team, we urge you to bring your journey here and work with us to create your bright future. Posting This posting is for a full-time Front Desk Receptionist for our Roanoke location. We are looking for a cheerful, positive individual who enjoys talking to parents and children, working with our teachers and staff, and has a love for what they do. Responsibilities Front desk receptionists greet parents and students, help studio managers and art teachers in daily operations, and contribute to maintaining studio premises:
Welcome:
Greet students and parents arriving in the gallery/lobby area of the studio, providing a positive first impression of our studio. Follow up with parents as needed before or after classes. Provide class information. Communicate effectively.
Registration:
Sign students up for classes and receive payment. Create and finalize contracts with new clients. Create, manage, and clear invoices. Process POS transactions.
Class:
Take student and visitor attendance. Check it with teachers. Assist art teachers and studio managers with class prep, exhibit and gallery setup or takedown.
Maintenance:
Perform light housekeeping at the art studio, maintain art classes and art supplies for teachers. Ensure a clean and bright studio before opening, with tasks ranging from sweeping the front desk area to cleaning the windows. Occasionally perform some classroom upkeep tasks, within reason.
Calls and Outreach:
Operate studio phone, forward calls, take messages. Collect and prepare mail, messages, or deliveries. Send out emails and newsletters. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while providing excellent customer support
Administration:
Process and prepare memos, correspondence, travel vouchers, or other documents. Handle filing and organization of documents, maintaining an orderly office environment. Assist with calendar management, scheduling appointments and meetings as needed Familiarity and aptitude with computer work including google suite programs (Docs, Sheets, Drive) is highly recommended. Experience working at art galleries, schools, or similar after-school education businesses could also be highly beneficial for applicants. Hours Our studio is open M-F 4:15-9:15pm, Saturday 8:45am-5:15pm and Sunday 9:45am-4:15pm. This job will max out at 40 hours a week. Application We recommend applying with a resume or a cover letter.
