Front Desk Assistant
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Greeting patients, performing check-in procedures, maintaining current demographic and insurance information in computer and in the chart, performing office opening procedures, petty cash balancing, co-pay/co-insurance collection, and assisting patients as needed. Primary focus is servicing patients in the lobby with backup for phones and other front office personnel. 1-2 years experience in healthcare background
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
ASC Director and/or Office Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma, with 1-2 years experience in healthcare background
KNOWLEDGE
1. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures. 2. Knowledge of computer systems, programs. 3. Knowledge of medical terminology.
SKILLS:
1. Must be able to multi - task. 2. Must be able to express compassion and kindness to patients calling and being seen in the office. 3. Must maintain a professional and upbeat attitude 4. Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations.
ABILITIES
1. Ability to work with effectively with medical staff, Management, authorizations, external agencies and patients.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
