Shady Grove Animal Clinic is seeking a full time Veterinary Receptionist to join the team of our busy practice in Glen Allen. Shady Grove is a full-service veterinary practice that has been providing quality, innovative veterinary care to the surrounding community for over two decades. We currently have four full time veterinarians & two part time veterinarians and an experienced skilled support staff of licensed technicians, veterinary assistants and receptionists. The clinic hours are 7:30am - 6:30pm, this job opening is flexible and would be full time. A flexible schedule is required during operating hours. Here at SGAC we rely heavily on our receptionists - they help keep the clinic running efficiently and are the first and last impression made on our clients. An ideal candidate is hard-working, has good communication skills and is a team player! An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys helping our clients & patients have the best personalized experience, both in clinic and on the phone! Job duties include, but are not limited to answering multi-line telephones, making appointments, checking patients in and out, including taking payments, receiving and responding to emails & texts, and receiving and relaying client correspondence. Duties also include updating medical records, facilitating potential emergency visits, taking prescription and food requests, and entering estimates and charges. The requirements for the position include being able to multitask, work well in a fast-paced environment, calmly handle stress, lift and carry up to 25lbs, sit for extended periods of time, and quickly become proficient in veterinary terminology and usage.
