POSITION SUMMARY
The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for registering patients according to appointment times, collecting marketing/referral sources, collecting co-pays. Responsible for scheduling patients and checking out patients. Responsible for tracking no-shows in the practice online system.

  • Effectively register patients by gathering, verifying, and entering in demographic, insurance, and HIPPA information into the appropriate system.
  • Obtains required forms from patients including but limited to registration sheets, permission to file claims, records release, etc.
  • Collect co-payments and personal payments.
  • Handles inquiries about insurance acceptance, office hours, services, locations, exam fees, physician information, etc.
  • Verifies upcoming appointments.
  • Properly triages patients and visitors.
  • Communicates with the Compliance Officer regarding procedural changes and concerns.
  • Participates in professional development efforts to remain current on insurance coverage and regulation matters.
  • Cooperates and communicates professionally with all staff members and physicians about practice matters.
  • Issues proper receipts and maintains balanced drawer.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to attend required meetings.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in job assignment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience:
Customer service in a medical office setting preferred.
