Job Description
Description We are looking for a dependable Receptionist to support front desk operations in Virginia. This Contract position is ideal for someone who creates a welcoming first impression, communicates clearly, and stays organized while managing daily administrative tasks. The role requires on-site presence at the reception area, an appropriate business presentation, and confidence using Microsoft Office tools to help coordinate schedules and visitor interactions.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome visitors and provide a welcoming first point of contact for guests, clients, and staff at the front desk.
- Manage incoming calls through a multi-line phone system, directing each inquiry to the appropriate person or department efficiently.
- Maintain awareness of the company calendar and scheduled activities using Microsoft Office applications to support daily office flow.
- Monitor the reception area throughout the day, ensuring coverage is consistent and the front desk remains organized.
- Handle general administrative support tasks such as relaying messages, answering routine questions, and assisting with basic office coordination.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with internal team members and external contacts while representing the organization in a courteous manner. Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a receptionist, front desk, or similar customer-facing administrative role.
- Experience handling inbound calls and operating a multi-line or switchboard phone system.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including calendar and scheduling tools.
- Strong verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to remain organized and attentive while seated at the front desk for extended periods.
- Appropriate appearance and willingness to follow business attire expectations.
