Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Badging Clerk is responsible for issuing, maintaining, and controlling identification badges for employees, contractors, and visitors in accordance with security policies and access control procedures.
PAY TRANSPARENCY/COMPENSATION
$21.13/hr.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner and process visitors in accordance with BAE-Radford Army Ammunition Plant governing access control. Ascertain the nature of the visit, obtain necessary information to conduct query. Upon the determination of the nature of the visitor and the visitor's status (escorted or unescorted), assign the appropriate temporary access badge (or identifier that will be used by BAE-Radford) to the visitor. Retrieve information regarding visitor entries and logs upon request. Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are potentially Monday-Friday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm. May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Other tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must successfully pass a credit & criminal background investigation to include previous employment and personal references. Must have at least 1-2 years' administrative experience with strong customer service skills. Must be knowledgeable of general office procedures (e.g. filing, faxing, phone etiquette, preparation of correspondence and reports, and other related tasks as required.) Must be
PROFICIENT
in Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Must be able to handle stressful situations and capable of staying alert during period of inactivity Must be able to stand for periods of time. Must possess mental alertness and reliable judgment. Must be capable of clear and audible speech as required for effective communication. Must be able to process visitors and issue badges. Must be able to use basic office equipment and computers. Must be able to write clearly and maintain computer databases. Must regularly be able to work 8 hours per day and at times up to 12 hours per day. Must pass a physical examination given by a licensed physician or health care professional. Must be tactful and courteous when dealing with BAE-Radford personnel, visitors and the general public. Must be able to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance.
