Veterinary Receptionist & Front Office Lead (Full-Time)

Roanoke, VA Schedule:
Full-Time (40 hours), 4-Day Work Week (Mon-Thu or Tue-Fri), 8-10 hour shifts. No weekends.
Position Overview:
Are you an organized, positive professional who loves working with people and unique animals? The Avian and Exotic Pet Clinic of Roanoke is seeking a dependable, full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing team. This is a dynamic, high-engagement role. You will manage our front-of-house operations, foster deep relationships with our exotic pet clients, and occasionally step into the treatment area to assist our medical team. What You Will Do Client Experience & Relations:
First Impressions:
Provide a warm, professional welcome to clients and their unique pets in person and over the phone.
Relationship Building:
Build lasting, trusting client bonds to ensure high satisfaction and support.
Communication:
Manage multi-line phone systems, prioritize client inquiries, and schedule appointments accurately.
Practice Operations & Leadership Workflow Optimization:
Organize daily appointment flow and keep the front desk running smoothly.
Financials:
Manage invoicing, payment processing, and accounts receivable tracking.
Administrative Maintenance:
Manage digital patient charts, audit appointment compliance, and send patient reminders.
Team Support:
Assist the Practice Manager with inventory, ordering, and training/enrichment for front office staff.
Clinical Assistance Medical Support:
Step into the treatment area to assist Veterinarians and Technicians with patient care and various clinic tasks when needed.
What We Are Looking For Experience:
2+ years of veterinary or medical front office experience is highly preferred.
Skills:
Exceptional grammar, reading, communication, basic math, and computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Docs and practice databases).
Attributes:
Unwavering reliability, punctuality, strong organizational skills, and a professional appearance/attitude.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet as needed.
