Job Summary Sound Health Care Center is looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized individual to join our front office team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience while helping keep our busy family practice running smoothly. Medical office experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right candidate with outstanding customer service skills. Duties Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and warmth Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls appropriately Schedule and confirm patient appointments Check patients in and out for appointments Verify demographic, insurance, and identification information Explain and encourage use of our patient portal Notify patients of appointment delays and provide excellent customer service Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record Process incoming faxes, medical records, and release requests Make reminder calls and assist with other patient communications Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked Assist with additional administrative and clinical support tasks as needed What We're Looking For Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Comfortable using computers and learning electronic medical record systems Dependable, punctual, and a team player Ability to work independently while collaborating with coworkers Cash handling and basic office equipment experience preferred Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous medical office, healthcare, or customer service experience Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is preferred Physical Requirements Frequent computer use throughout the workday Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed Ability to lift up to 30 pounds Clear communication in person and by telephone Join us to be part of a passionate team that values your contribution!
