Red Maple Animal Hospital's mission is provide individualized medicine for clients and patients by utilizing advances in traditional and complementary medicine. Position available We are looking for a part-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team You'll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. As a small clinic, you will be asked to handle a wide range of tasks often divided up in larger practices. Fully paperless practice Digital and low-dose radiography Digital dental radiography In house labs Responsibilities Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and speaking with patient owners Answering phones Contacting other clinics to request records transfer Assist the Veterinarian in a variety of duties: including client care and education Soothe upset or frightened animals Keep accurate records and logs pertaining to patient medical records Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for and explain issues (e.g. lack of appointments, insurance matters) Help maintain cleanliness of the hospital and patients under care Skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Patient and caring personality Ability to follow instructions properly and attention to detail Comfortable being around animals (cats, dogs) Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs) High school diploma or above
