Lead Receptionist Animal Hospital at Hillshore Madison, WI Job Details Full-time $14 - $20 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Employee assistance program Employee discount Qualifications Teamwork Medical documentation Phone communication Team development Medical receptionist Full Job Description Animal Hospital at Hillshore is a growing neighborhood clinic, and we're looking for a Lead Receptionist who loves the veterinary world as much as we do. Our front desk is the heart of the client experience — the first hello, the steady voice on the phone, the calm presence when things get busy. If you're someone who thrives in a clinic setting, enjoys supporting a team, and finds joy in helping pets and their people feel cared for, you'll fit right in here. Who You Are You're the kind of person who remembers clients by name, notices when a pet is nervous, and keeps the front desk running smoothly even on the busiest days. You communicate clearly, stay organized, and genuinely enjoy being part of a veterinary team. Maybe you've worked in a clinic before, or maybe you're trained in medical reception and want to grow in the veterinary field — either way, you're comfortable in a fast-paced environment where compassion and efficiency go hand in hand. What You'll Do Lead and support our reception team with daily guidance, coaching, and a positive attitude Welcome clients, manage check-ins/check-outs, and keep communication flowing Coordinate with technicians and veterinarians to keep appointments on track Handle scheduling, phone calls, medical record accuracy, and payment processing Step in to resolve client concerns with warmth, clarity, and professionalism Help onboard new reception staff and reinforce clinic standards Maintain a friendly, organized lobby that reflects our neighborhood-clinic feel What You Bring Veterinary reception experience or medical reception experience preferred A natural ability to guide others and keep a team moving in the same direction Strong multitasking skills and comfort with busy clinic days Clear, warm communication — both in person and over the phone A genuine interest in veterinary medicine and supporting pet families Reliability, kindness, and a collaborative mindset Why Hillshore? We're a small, growing clinic with a loyal neighborhood client base and a team that truly cares about each other. Our culture is supportive, upbeat, and built around doing right by pets and the people who love them. As we grow, we're looking for leaders who want to grow with us — people who value teamwork, communication, and a welcoming environment.
