Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated animal healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help foster positive relationships with pet owners and support the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. A strong foundation in veterinary terminology, animal handling, and medical procedures will empower you to assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians effectively, contributing to exceptional pet care and client satisfaction. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly and manage appointment scheduling with enthusiasm and professionalism. Handle collection of payments accurately while maintaining confidentiality. Support veterinary staff by preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment using aseptic techniques, and managing laboratory samples. Coordinate follow-up appointments, medication refills, and pet care instructions to ensure comprehensive client service. Maintain organized records of pet medical histories, laboratory results, and treatment plans in accordance with USDA regulations and DEA guidelines. Answering phone calls and returning voicemails in a timely fashion. Requirements Prior experience in veterinary reception or administrative roles within animal healthcare settings is preferred but not required Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine is essential. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners, veterinary staff, and external agencies. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform animal restraint or kennel duties as required.
