This position is based within

Jefferson Regional Telecommunication DepartmentJob Summary:

The PBX Operator will accurately operate the telephone console for incoming and outgoing calls, perform in-house paging, conduct answering service, maintain physicians PC database, and operate the TDD phone for the hearing impaired. This position responds to all codes and alarms quickly with appropriate priority. The PBX Operator must be knowledgeable of all equipment operating procedures.

Operator Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required. This is a safety sensitive position.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a year of computer experience or trainingExcellent verbal communication and listening skillsStrong multi-tasking abilities in a fast paced environmentAbility to handle emergency situations calmly and efficientlyAble to demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Requirements:

One year of answering in a call center or company phone.



One-year customer service experience.



Proficiency in operating phone systems, paging systems, and basic office equipmentFamiliarity with medical terminology
