The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Overview:
Relays incoming and outgoing calls, monitors operations of telephone and paging systems, and ensures that telephone equipment is in good working order and that problems are reported. Monitors emergency alarms. Communicates medical and other information to authorized recipients; operates the paging system; sounds alarms and announces medical codes; disasters, and other emergencies in accordance with institutional policies. Works cooperatively on PI initiatives to improve Communications department for the organization.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma At least one year work experience in switchboard communications (preferably in an acute care hospital)
Preferred:
Prior Switchboard experience Familiarity with medical terminology
