Job Overview:

The Communications Operator relays incoming and outgoing calls to the hospital, monitors operations of telephone and paging systems, and ensures that telephone equipment is in good, working order.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma required

Preferred:

Familiarity with switchboard communications and medical terminology

Experience in acute care and / or ambulatory care environment

Prior switchboard experience and knowledge of Microsoft applications

Scheduling Requirements:

Per Diem

Evening Shift Essential Functions:

Monitors emergency alarms, communicates medical and other information to authorized recipients

Operates the paging system, sound alarms, and announce medical codes / disasters / other emergencies in accordance with institutional policies

Works collaboratively on Performance Improvement initiatives to better the Communications Department for the
