The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has more than 60 cancer specialists and 450 healthcare professionals representing many different areas of medical and administrative services across 22 locations in North Texas. JOB DESCRIPTION
The switchboard operator manages all incoming calls and forwards them to the appropriate person or department. May possibly assist in greeting and directing patients, patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling and other aspects of the front office. The switchboard operator will learn all aspects of medical records, obtaining and processing insurance information, referrals, co-pays and filing. Other duties may be assigned that can be managed while answering telephone calls.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
 Ability to communicate with patients, peers, physicians, and the general public.  Exceptional telephone communication and etiquette skills.  Basic computer skills, including word processing, keyboarding and ability to learn computerized scheduling system.  Professional appearance, ability to manage multiple tasks and be a team player.
