Job Description

Do you have the PRN career opportunities as a(an) Switchboard PBX Operator PRN you want with your current employer? Job Summary and Qualifications The Switchboard PBX Operator PRN will answer and correctly route all calls in a prompt, courteous, and pleasant manner and to provide monitoring of all essential alarm systems to start responses to alarm activator. Demonstrate ability to operate console unit promptly and efficiently. Maintain courtesy when responding to incoming and outgoing callers. Accurately identify and take appropriate action for the following situations when they occur: Code Red (Red), Code Blue (CPR), Code Yellow (disaster), and bomb threats. Report all telephone repair needs to the PBX Coordinator. Review, comprehend, and adhere to hospital and department policies and procedures which pertain to work performance. Properly use paging system and exercise discretion in keeping paging to a minimum. Monitor all alarm system (fire, oxygen, burglar, vacuum, etc.) and takes appropriate action in event of an alarm activation. Treats all information obtained as confidential and communicates the information only through the designated administrative channels. Refer all patient information calls to appropriate designated person. Attend in-service and staff meetings as requested. Exhibit a professional rapport with employees, physicians, patients and visitors. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor. Perform duties at designated work station related to other department operations as may be assigned through the PBX Coordinator. Provides adequate notice in event of illness.
What qualifications you will need:
2 years of customer service experience, and/or 1 year of experience working in a medical environment.
