Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented DMV Paperwork / Office Assistant to join our used-car dealership. The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare, review, organize, and process DMV-related documents accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is organized, responsible, comfortable working with customers and dealership staff, and capable of handling confidential information. Previous dealership or DMV-processing experience is preferred, but training may be available for a candidate with strong learning ability and attention to detail. Responsibilities Prepare and process California DMV registration and title paperwork Review sales files for completeness and accuracy Process vehicle transfers, registrations, renewals, and title applications Prepare DMV forms, including
REG 262, REG
256, and other required documents Verify VINs, customer information, signatures, lienholder information, fees, and supporting documents Track pending titles, registrations, smog certificates, and missing paperwork Correct rejected or incomplete DMV transactions Maintain organized physical and electronic vehicle files Enter and update information in DealerCenter or other dealership systems Communicate with customers, lenders, DMV service providers, and dealership departments Assist with Reports of Sale and related dealership paperwork Answer phones, scan documents, perform data entry, and provide general office support Protect confidential customer and company information Perform other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Previous DMV, dealership, title clerk, or automotive office experience preferred Knowledge of California DMV paperwork and dealership procedures is a strong plus DealerCenter experience is preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and time-management skills Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and office equipment Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines Professional communication and customer-service skills Dependable, punctual, responsible, and willing to learn English required; bilingual

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
