Job Description

The Commercial Automotive Title Specialist is responsible for managing vehicle title and registration processes for commercial automotive transactions. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant handling of titles for fleet sales, leases, financing, and transfers while adhering to state and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Process and manage vehicle titles for commercial sales, leases, fleet transactions, and financing agreements.

Prepare, review, and submit title and registration documents to state motor vehicle agencies.

Ensure accurate lien recording, releases, and title transfers for commercial vehicles.

Verify vehicle information including VINs, ownership history, and lien status.

Resolve title discrepancies, missing documentation, and state-specific compliance issues.

Coordinate with dealerships, fleet managers, lenders, DMVs, internal sales and leasing representatives, and third-party vendorsTrack title status and maintain organized records for high-volume commercial transactions.

Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company policies related to vehicle titling and registration.

Support audits by maintaining accurate documentation and responding to title-related inquiries.

Meet processing deadlines to avoid penalties, delays, or operational disruptions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.3-5+ years of experience in automotive titling, registration, leasing or commercial vehicle operations.

Strong knowledge of multi-state DMV titles and registration requirements.

Experience handling commercial or fleet vehicle titles preferred.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to manage high transaction volumes in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in dealership management systems (DMS) and Microsoft Office.

Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post offer background check, physical and drug screening.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with fleet sales, leasing, or commercial vehicle financing.

Familiarity with lienholders, UCC filings, and commercial lending documentation.

Knowledge of state-specific commercial vehicle regulations, weight classifications, and tax requirements.

Experience working with title vendors or third-party registration services.

Experience with Power BI and Salesforce preferred.

Experience with Microsoft or Google preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Deadline-driven, high-volume automotive leasing environment.

Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.

Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.

Ability to communicate by providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.

Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.

Normal range of hearing and vision.
