Title Clerk -
Destination Kia of Utica Address:
5056 Commercial Drive, Yorkville, NY 13495 Pay rate: $18/hr. to start, based on experience
Schedule:
Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 am through 5 pm with an hour lunch, overtime when necessary. Some Saturday hours may be necessary. Destination Kia , located in Yorkville, and the #1 volume Kia dealer throughout the region, is seeking motivated sales consultants to join our team! SUMMARY The Title Clerk plays a key role in keeping the dealership running smoothly by processing car deals, confirming all deal‑related costs, and preparing accurate paperwork for vehicle registrations. In this role you will work closely with the accounting team and the DMV to ensure every transaction is documented correctly and completed on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
: Process all new and used vehicle registrations and prepare accurate tax/title documents. Submit all title and registration paperwork to the DMV and ensure all information is complete. Verify collected funds and lien‑payoff accuracy before submitting title applications. Bill dealer trades, prepare Certificates of Origin, and maintain out‑of‑state title records. Track all outstanding title work and provide monthly status updates to management/comptroller. Sign over titles for wholesalers once paid in full and report any unresolved title/funding issues. Manage yearly dealer tag renewals with the comptroller. Stay current on title regulations and attend required training/seminars. Cross‑train team members and provide periodic training to F&I and sales staff on title procedures. Direct daily tasks of the title runner and assist with additional office duties as needed.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of general office experience ; dealership or automotive experience a plus. Title Clerk experience preferred , including familiarity with DMV processes and state regulations. Strong computer skills; ability to learn dealership systems. Ability to review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance . Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Professional communication skills when working with DMV, lenders, customers, and internal departments. Valid clean driver's license ; ability to drive dealership vehicles as needed. Willingness to stay updated on title regulations , attend training, and adapt to procedural changes. Experience with Dealertrack, CVR, or similar title/registration platforms preferred.
