Title Clerk Park Avenue Title Agency, Inc. — Fremont, Ohio (Sandusky County) About Us Park Avenue Title Agency, Inc. is a locally owned title insurance and real estate settlement agency serving Sandusky County and the surrounding northwest Ohio region. Working alongside The Bowlus Law Firm, Ltd., we handle residential and commercial real estate transactions with a focus on accuracy, clear communication, and a smooth closing experience for buyers, sellers, lenders, and realtors. We're a small, close-knit office where your work makes a direct difference for our clients. Position Summary We're looking for a detail-oriented Title Clerk to support our real estate closing operations from start to finish. In this role you'll examine title, prepare commitments and policies, coordinate with all parties to a transaction, and help ensure each file is complete, accurate, and ready to close on time. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, and enjoys work that rewards precision. We welcome candidates across a range of experience. If you've worked in title, real estate, banking, or a law office, that background is a plus — but we're also happy to train a sharp, motivated candidate who is eager to learn the title business. Key Responsibilities Prepare title commitments, identifying requirements and exceptions such as liens, mortgages, easements, judgments, and other encumbrances. Clear title objections by obtaining payoffs, releases, satisfactions, and other supporting documentation. Prepare title insurance policies and endorsements in accordance with underwriter guidelines. Perform and review title searches, examining public records, prior policies, tax records, and court filings to establish a clear chain of title. Assist in preparing closing documents and settlement statements (Closing Disclosures/HUDs) and coordinate closing logistics. Communicate professionally with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders, attorneys, and county offices to gather information and resolve issues. Handle post-closing tasks including document recording, disbursement follow-up, and policy issuance. Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential physical and electronic files. Support wire-fraud and closing-security procedures to protect client funds. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or paralegal/real estate coursework a plus. Prior experience in title, real estate, mortgage, banking, or a law office preferred but not required — we will train the right person. Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with documents and numbers. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines. Clear, professional written and verbal communication. Comfortable with computers, email, and standard office software; experience with title or closing software is a plus. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly. Dependable, punctual, and able to work on-site in our Fremont office.
