Responsibilities Perform comprehensive title searches by examining public records, legal descriptions, easements, and title records to verify property ownership and identify any encumbrances or restrictions. Review real estate documentation including deeds, mortgages, liens, and other legal descriptions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Utilize mapping software, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and real estate transaction management software to analyze property boundaries, rights-of-way, and legal descriptions. Conduct title review processes in accordance with underwriting guidelines to confirm clear titles for mortgage closings. Assist with the preparation of title commitments, reports, and other closing documents while maintaining meticulous records of all title processing activities. Communicate effectively with clients, law offices, title companies, and other stakeholders to provide updates on transaction status and resolve any issues related to title or documentation. Support the team in adhering to legal requirements and company policies related to real estate law, easements, rights-of-way, and other relevant regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in law office settings or real estate transaction management roles is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of real estate law, legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and title review procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), as well as real estate documentation review software and mapping tools such as GIS or specialized title software. Familiarity with public records research methods and title search techniques. Ability to interpret complex legal descriptions accurately while adhering to underwriting guidelines. Excellent research skills combined with attention to detail for reviewing title records and legal documents. Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
