We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Title Examiner with 5+ years of title examination experience with Commercial and Acreage properties. The ideal candidate will perform thorough title searches, review title documents, and prepare commitments. Texas experience is required, and multi-state expertise is valued. Our Title Group is a full-service title, settlement, underwriting and vendor management services company serving consumers, real estate companies, affinity groups, corporations, and financial institutions in support of residential and commercial real estate transactions.

• Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct a thorough search of the public records and conduct a complete examination to assess property's status of title, while adhering to regulatory title standards and Underwriter's policies and procedures.
• Review documents affecting title to property, such as mortgages, deeds, probate records, trust agreements etc.
• Read and interpret real estate documents, legal proceedings, maps, and surveys.
• Responsible for assembling Title Commitments to be used to issue a Final Title Policy.
• Communicate effectively with Underwriters, Title Officers, Escrow Officers, and Escrow Processing Teams.
• Be willing to mentor junior examiners on various title issues.

• Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of Texas title examination experience.
• Strong understanding of title examination process and procedures, related documentation, and their effect upon title.
• Fully versed in Commercial, Residential and Acreage (metes and bounds) examinations, experience in Texas.
• Proficient in the use of Title Data (TIMS) title plant software, Deed Plotter software, have experience with County Government websites).
• Must have good research/ investigation skills and understand legal terms, be aware of new legal developments/legislation that affect real property.
• Excellent verbal/written skills and attention to detail, excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to prioritize according to departmental guidelines, have a high level of organizational skills, ability to consistently meet deadlines, work with constantly changing priorities demonstrate strong follow through, and to follow procedures/processes.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use various software applications Microsoft Outlook, Word, Acrobat.
• Attention to detail combined with analytical and problem-solving skills.
