Responsibilities Perform thorough title searches using public records, title records, and real estate documentation to verify ownership history and identify potential issues Review legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and other encumbrances to ensure accuracy and completeness Utilize mapping software and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to create detailed property maps and visualize land boundaries Manage title processing tasks efficiently, including ordering and reviewing title reports, lien searches, and title commitments Conduct research on property histories, including previous transactions, liens, judgments, and restrictions affecting the property Collaborate with underwriters to ensure all transactions comply with underwriting guidelines and legal requirements Communicate clearly with clients, attorneys, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth real estate closings and resolve any title issues promptly Requirements Proven experience in law office settings or real estate transaction management environments is highly preferred Strong knowledge of real estate law, legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and public records research methods Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) along with real estate documentation review tools and title search software Familiarity with GIS technology and mapping software used for land analysis and boundary visualization Ability to interpret complex legal descriptions accurately and review title records meticulously Excellent research skills with attention to detail in analyzing title history and resolving discrepancies Effective client communication skills combined with a customer service-oriented mindset Knowledge of real estate closing management processes and adherence to underwriting guidelines Join us as a Title Officer if you're passionate about ensuring the integrity of property transactions through meticulous research, detailed review processes, and proactive problem-solving.
