Job Description

Position Summary The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the patient in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care. The APRN/NP will provide healthcare to patients in accordance with the standard care arrangement and within the scope of practice set forth by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Specific functions pertaining to the department in which the APRN/NP works are established by the APRN/NP and the collaborating physician(s) and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators. Licensure/Certification Current RN licensure and current APRN licensure in the state of Ohio or WV (as applicable for position). Current certification through national certifying agency. Current DEA number from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration for scheduled II-V controlled substances. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required, depending on the department.
