This Role Start of Day:
You begin by updating and maintaining the Master Specification within our eCAV system, confirming that every specification is current and aligned to customer and internal standards. You organize documentation for new part introductions, including VSE (SPS) customer packages, review submittals, and track character accountability for each drawing characteristic.
Mid-Morning:
You coordinate document control for engineering drawings—verifying accuracy, updating revisions, and ensuring controlled access. As the reviewer for approved process compliance, you back up inspection activities as needed, perform work center and process audits, and provide SPS package support. During inspections on steel tools, components, and materials, you identify and document defects and recommend corrective actions while preserving an accurate audit trail.
Afternoon:
You handle receiving inspection administration by uploading and verifying material certifications and Certificates of Conformance (CofCs), then releasing compliant materials into the crib per purchase order and specification requirements. You draft professional correspondence on behalf of Quality Assurance and Engineering Managers, collaborate with production and engineering to resolve issues, and complete timely data entry to support quality tracking and production systems. Throughout the

You sustain eCAV maintenance, support PFAI efforts, serve as a submittal reviewer, and engage cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement in quality, flow, and efficiency. You maintain meticulous inspection records and reports for quality control and audits, and you manage the specification library so all teams work from the latest revisions. Core Responsibilities Perform inspections on steel tools, components, and engineering materials to verify conformance to specifications; document defects and recommend corrective actions. Provide SPS package support; prepare and deliver VSE (SPS) new part introduction packages in line with quality and engineering requirements. Maintain eCAV, including Master Specification updates; support PFAI; act as submittal reviewer; ensure character accountability. Execute document control for engineering drawings: verify accuracy, manage revisions, and ensure controlled access for authorized users. Serve as inspection backup; conduct work center and process audits; verify approved process compliance.
Administer receiving inspection documentation:
upload/verify material certifications and CofCs; release compliant materials to the crib after PO/spec verification. Manage the specification library; coordinate updates and communicate changes to stakeholders. Draft and distribute customer correspondence for Quality Assurance and Engineering leadership. Complete accurate, timely data entry to support production, quality tracking, and documentation. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications Experience in quality inspection within steel, tooling, or engineering industries (preferred). Comfort with repetitive tasks; ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Proficiency with measurement tools; ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings/specifications. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Familiarity with ISO standards and industry regulations (preferred).
