Job Description

Technical Sales Associate Trenton Forging Company - Trenton, MI Trenton Forging Company is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Associate to support business growth within our steel forging operation. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting customers through technical discussions, quoting, and ongoing account management. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing or industrial sales, strong communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and production teams. Responsibilities Research new sales leads aligned with company goals, forging capabilities, and target markets. Explore new market segments and applications for forged steel products through outreach, networking, and industry research. Contact and follow-up with prospective customers to generate new business opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction, retention, and account growth. Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries and demonstrate urgency in addressing account-related concerns. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support quoting, technical discussions, and customer requirements. Prepare quotes, enter sales data, and maintain accurate records within ERP system. Analyze sales activity, market trends, and customer opportunities to support business growth initiatives. Assist in developing marketing efforts including capability presentations, promotional materials, and trade show support. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer visits to promote forging capabilities and develop relationships. Maintain strong knowledge of company products, manufacturing capabilities, and core strengths to effectively communicate value to customers. Perform other duties as assigned to support sales and business development objectives. Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field preferred Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, forging, or metalworking environments Strong customer relationship and business development skills Professional and confident customer-facing presence Experience supporting technical sales discussions and quoting processes preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with ERP systems preferred Ability to analyze market data and identify growth opportunities Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Work Environment / Physical Requirements Extended periods of computer and phone use Occasional travel for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events Fast-paced manufacturing and customer support environment Why Join Trenton Forging Company?
