Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Tree Climber and play a vital role in maintaining healthy, safe, and beautiful urban and rural landscapes. As a Tree Climber, you will utilize your expertise in arboriculture and climbing techniques to perform tree care, pruning, removal, and maintenance tasks. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors in diverse environments, applying your skills to enhance the safety and aesthetics of trees while following strict safety protocols. Your efforts will directly contribute to community well-being and environmental health. (must know how to remove trees and must know how to use a bucket truck as well. Responsibilities Safely ascend trees using climbing gear, harnesses, and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations. Operate bucket trucks and other specialized equipment for access to high branches or hard-to-reach areas. Execute tree care procedures including planting, pruning, shaping, and removing hazardous or dead trees with precision. Use rigging techniques to lower large branches or sections safely during tree removal projects. Conduct site assessments to identify potential hazards and determine appropriate work methods in accordance with arborist standards. Follow all safety protocols rigorously to ensure personal safety and that of team members during outdoor work activities. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including tree conditions, treatments applied, and equipment used. Skills Proficiency in arborist rigging techniques, tree removal, and tree trimming practices. Experience operating bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other outdoor power tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping and planning tree maintenance projects. Strong understanding of plant pruning care, landscape maintenance, horticulture principles, and dendrology (study of trees). Ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions with growing experience in landscaping or lawn care. Familiarity with safety protocols related to climbing gear, rigging equipment, and bucket operation. Excellent physical fitness for climbing, lifting heavy loads, and working at heights safely.
