Job Description
Join one of Michigan's most unique garden centers. Goldner Walsh Garden & Home is seeking a knowledgeable, hardworking Arborist to help care for our trees, shrubs, and nursery stock while contributing to the beauty and quality our customers have come to expect. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who is passionate about trees, plants, and horticulture and enjoys working outdoors in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and maintain the health of ornamental and shade trees. Prune trees and shrubs using proper arboricultural practices. Water, fertilize, and maintain nursery stock. Help customers select the right trees and plants while providing expert care advice. Monitor inventory quality and ensure plants are presented to the highest standards. Assist with seasonal nursery operations, merchandising, and general grounds maintenance. Work alongside our landscape and retail teams to create an exceptional customer experience. Qualifications Experience as an Arborist, Nursery Professional, or in horticulture, landscaping, or tree care. ISA Certified Arborist certification is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of tree identification, pruning techniques, pests, diseases, and plant health care. Ability to perform physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable lifting 50+ pounds. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to quality workmanship. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience.
