Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Climber and become a vital part of maintaining healthy, beautiful, and safe urban and rural landscapes! In this energetic role, you will leverage your climbing skills, arborist knowledge, and safety expertise to perform tree care, removal, pruning, and maintenance tasks. Your work will directly contribute to the safety of communities, the health of trees, and the enhancement of outdoor environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors in various weather conditions while honing your skills in tree care and rigging techniques. Duties Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations. Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches efficiently and securely. Use chainsaws and other hand tools to prune dead or hazardous branches, or remove entire trees when necessary. Implement arborist rigging techniques for controlled tree dismantling and limb removal to prevent damage or injury. Conduct detailed assessments of tree health and structure, utilizing knowledge of dendrology (the study of trees) and horticulture principles. Apply safety protocols rigorously during all activities to protect yourself, colleagues, property, and the environment. Assist with land clearing, lawn care, landscaping projects, or plant pruning to support overall site aesthetics and health. Qualifications Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on tree care, landscaping, or horticulture. Strong understanding of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal procedures, and safety practices. Ability to operate bucket trucks safely and proficiently for aerial work tasks. Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping tools is a plus for site assessments. Skilled in using chainsaws, pruning shears, rigging gear, and other relevant equipment. Knowledge of growing practices related to trees and plants enhances your ability to provide quality care.
