We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vegetation/Landscape Technician to oversee the maintenance and management of vegetation at our utility-scale solar site in Chilton, TX. The ideal candidate will ensure that the landscape is maintained to the highest standards, promoting the efficiency and longevity of the solar panels while adhering to environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

Supervision and Management:

Lead a team of landscape technicians in the maintenance of vegetation around solar panels, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Vegetation Control:

Implement and manage vegetation control strategies, including mowing, trimming, and herbicide application, to prevent shading and maintain optimal solar panel performance.

Environmental Compliance:

Ensure all landscaping activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

Maintenance Planning:

Develop and execute maintenance schedules to ensure consistent and effective vegetation management.

Equipment Management:

Oversee the use and maintenance of landscaping equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working condition.

Safety Protocols:

Enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect team members and equipment.

Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incidents, and compliance with environmental regulations.

Collaboration:

Work closely with site managers and other departments to coordinate activities and support overall site operations.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in landscape management or a related field, preferably in a utility-scale solar or industrial setting.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in horticulture, environmental science, or a related field is a plus.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in landscaping, pesticide application, or environmental management are preferred.

Skills:

Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in the use of landscaping equipment.

Knowledge:

Understanding of local flora and fauna, environmental regulations, and best practices in vegetation management.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass a background and drug screen.
