Negotiable employee compensation package structure Reports to: Sales Manager ArborTrue is seeking an ISA Certified Arborist who enjoys working with people as much as working with trees. This position combines arboricultural consulting, client education, and sales. You'll spend most of your time meeting residential clients, evaluating trees, preparing recommendations, and helping customers make informed decisions about their trees. This is not a desk job. Most days are spent driving throughout the greater Houston area, visiting multiple properties, and working independently. If you enjoy being out in the field, solving problems, meeting new people, and managing your own schedule while remaining accountable to a team, this may be an excellent fit. What You'll Do Meet with residential clients to evaluate trees and plant concerns. Provide professional arboricultural recommendations. Prepare and send estimates promptly, typically the same day or by the following business day. Educate clients about tree health, risk, pruning, preservation, and realistic expectations. Generate sales through honest, professional consultation. Maintain communication with the office and management throughout the day. Travel extensively throughout the Houston area, with occasional out-of-state travel possible. Required Qualifications ISA Certified Arborist® credential. Strong arboricultural knowledge. At least one year of consulting or sales experience. Reliable personal vehicle. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organization and time-management skills. Dependability and punctuality. Ability to work independently while remaining engaged with the team. Consistent follow-through and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Lead generation experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Who Succeeds at ArborTrue? The most successful consulting arborists combine technical knowledge with excellent people skills. They enjoy meeting new people, building trust, and helping clients make informed decisions. They are comfortable discussing recommendations and asking for the sale without relying on high-pressure tactics. They are organized enough to manage a busy schedule, arrive on time, send estimates promptly, and follow through on commitments. Much of the workday is spent driving between appointments and working independently, so they are comfortable managing their own schedule, staying organized, and remaining productive without direct supervision. They communicate proactively with coworkers and management, accept coaching, and contribute to a positive, respectful work environment. Most importantly, they lead with integrity. Our clients trust us to provide honest, knowledgeable advice about the health and care of their trees. Sometimes that means recommending less work than a client expected or acknowledging the limits of what arboriculture can accomplish. We expect our consulting arborists to recommend what is best for the client and the tree, communicate realistic expectations, and build long-term relationships through professionalism and trust. We believe that doing the right thing for our clients is also good business. Although this position is highly independent, you will be part of a team. We value collaboration, mutual respect, accountability, and a willingness to support one another in providing outstanding service to our clients. If this sounds like a position where you would thrive, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a cover letter for consideration.
