This position plays a key role in pruning, maintaining, diagnosing, and safely removing trees while promoting the health, safety, and appearance of landscapes across multiple properties. The ideal candidate will have hands-on tree care experience, strong knowledge of arboriculture practices, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, thinning, and removals in accordance with industry standards
- Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing equipment or operate aerial lifts safely and efficiently
- Assess tree health and identify signs of disease, pest infestations, structural defects, or hazardous conditions
- Perform cabling, bracing, and corrective pruning when appropriate
- Safely remove hazardous or damaged trees using proper rigging and cutting techniques
- Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, aerial lifts, and other tree care equipment
- Work with landscaping crews to protect surrounding landscapes and property during tree work
- Maintain clean and organized job sites during and after each project
- Document work performed and communicate recommendations for future tree care
- Follow all OSHA, ANSI, and company safety procedures when operating equipment and performing aerial work
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Stay current on arboriculture techniques, safety standards, and industry best practices Qualifications
- Previous arborist or professional tree care experience required
- Experience climbing trees and/or operating aerial lifts preferred
- Knowledge of proper pruning techniques, tree biology, and species identification
- Experience with rigging, tree removal, and chainsaw operation
- ISA Certified Arborist certification preferred but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
