This individual develops, delivers, and continually evaluates/updates engaging science learning workshops, activities, and other programming for guests and visiting groups at the new Harborview Aquarium (Onondaga County). This educator primarily works on site at the new Harborview Aquarium in Syracuse's inner harbor, while working as a staff person at the MOST. Some travel between th MOST and the Aquarium is required. The position starts at 21 hours per week, with the opportunity to move to 35 hours per week (full-time) starting in April 2027. Work hours include both weekdays and weekends. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge in a relevant field (Aquatic Science, Marine Biology, etc.) and an ability to integrate these principles into educational programming. Compose and present information related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) topics in an engaging way for all age groups. Manage multiple projects with a complete understanding of ownership and follow through. Work independently using effective organizational and time management skills with minimum direction. Excellent organizational skills and ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork in a timely manner. Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques and the ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Education or relevant STEM discipline (e.g. Aquatic Science, Marine Biology). Experience in public outreach or similar roles preferred.
