Job Description

POSITION PROFILE
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the golf course irrigation system. Duties include moisture monitoring and reporting, irrigation repair, pump house monitoring and maintenance, hand watering, radio irrigation control, irrigation watering schedule. The Irrigation Specialist may also be assigned to operation of general turf equipment as needed. They strive to model the Pursell Farms core values in the completion of their work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all irrigation equipment on a regular schedule to ensure smooth and continuous operation.
  • Troubleshoot, identify and repair any breakdowns in the system
  • Repair and replace lines, gaskets, heads and valves as needed
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner
  • Maintain all appropriate documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate with Superintendent daily to help prioritize workload
  • Perform other duties as directed
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED required
  • Previous irrigation experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of pumps, water lines and related irrigation equipment
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work both independently and with other team members
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems related to the irrigation system
  • Ability to perform all job skills in a variety of weather conditions and extended hours as needed
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bending/Kneeling:
Will be required to bend and kneel routinely in the performance of daily duties
Work Environment:
Outside; may experience exposure to extreme weather conditions
Hearing:
Must be able to listen, hear and understand directions and instructions
Vision:
Must be able to see environment to successfully perform duties
Speech:
Must be able to speak clearly to communicate with supervisor and other team members
Literacy:
Must be able to read and write to read instructions and document findings
Equipment Operation:

Pay:
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
