Outdoor Production Role Compensation:
$17.20 - $18.00 per hour, depending on experience The Role Devil Mountain Wholesale Nursery is seeking dependable Tree Production Level I team members to support container shifting and tree production within the nursery. This role is responsible for shifting trees from smaller containers to larger containers as they mature, following proper planting techniques to ensure healthy root development and long-term plant quality. Tree Production team members play a critical role in maintaining production standards and supporting overall nursery growth cycles. Success in this role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to plant health and quality. What You'll Do Shift trees into larger containers as directed Follow proper planting techniques, including root pruning and depth placement Ensure proper irrigation after shifting Maintain plant identification and quality standards Assist with stocking and organizing trees after shifting Maintain cleanliness and safety within assigned production areas Utilize and maintain required PPE and equipment Assist other nursery departments as needed What You Bring Required Basic knowledge of plant identification and quality Ability to follow planting and production procedures Strong attention to detail Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Physical ability to perform repetitive production tasks Preferred Nursery or horticulture production experience Experience with container shifting or transplanting Work Environment & Expectations This is a physically demanding outdoor production role performed in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain. Work is conducted on uneven ground surfaces with extensive walking required.
Physical requirements include:
Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and squatting Lifting up to 50 lbs (75% of the time) Team lifting up to 100 lbs (25% of the time) Frequent gross grasping and use of hands and fingers PPE is required as applicable.
