About us Abalone Creek Ranch is a small business in Salinas, CA. Our goal is to Welcome to Abalone Creek Ranch, a regenerative family farm nestled in the beautiful region of Monterey County. Our picturesque small town of Corral de Tierra has been called "the pastures of heaven" by author John Steinbeck. As caretakers of this land, we feel a profound respect for the natural systems that make it thrive. We are committed to working in harmony with nature to create a flourishing ecosystem where all species can coexist and benefit. Through regenerative farming practices, we aim to promote biodiversity and nurture the health of the soil. Our Navajo Churro sheep and chickens are under our care, protected by our resident llamas, Lucky and Kuzco. We hope to share their abundant resources with you soon in the form of meat, eggs, wool, and more. .

Duties:
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the ranch, including buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, mowers, and loaders to perform various tasks.
  • Perform general ranch duties such as feeding and watering livestock, cleaning stalls, and maintaining fences.
  • Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops in the greenhouse and garden.
  • Use power tools and hand tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required for various tasks around the ranch.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working on a ranch or farm is preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of basic math for measuring and mixing materials.
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
