Reef Aquarium Technician/Coral Farm Assistant

Job Description

Doc Aquarium specializes in reef aquarium maintenance, pond maintenance, and coral farming. We operate a greenhouse coral farm and service high-end residential and commercial reef systems. Our focus is on clean, healthy systems and high-quality coral. Position Overview We're looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in reef aquariums to join our team. This role is a mix of hands-on aquarium maintenance, coral care, and occasional customer interaction. Responsibilities Perform routine aquarium maintenance (water changes, cleaning, equipment checks) Test and maintain water parameters (alkalinity, calcium, nutrients, etc.) Assist with coral care, fragging, and greenhouse tasks Transport and handle livestock safely Maintain a clean and organized workspace Communicate professionally with clients when on service visits Requirements Basic knowledge of reef aquariums (hobbyist experience is a big plus) Strong work ethic and reliability, showing up on time matters Comfortable with physical work (lifting buckets, working around water, etc.) Valid driver's license and clean driving record Attention to detail and willingness to learn Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience with dosing systems, controllers, or advanced reef setups Previous aquarium service or fish store experience Coral fragging or aquaculture experience What We're Looking For Not just reef knowledge, we want someone dependable, coachable, and consistent. A solid hobbyist with the right attitude is often a better fit than someone with advanced experience but poor reliability. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
