Double Brow Grow | City, Colorado Position Objective The Cultivation Technician II performs all responsibilities of a Cultivation Technician I while operating with increased technical proficiency, independence, and accountability across cultivation systems. This role supports plant production from propagation through harvest with a deeper focus on precision plant care, fertigation and irrigation system execution (EC/pH management, calibration, runoff validation, and alarm response), environmental monitoring, and data-driven identification of plant health risks. The Cultivation Technician II contributes to IPM scouting and biocontrol activities, sanitation changeovers, harvest execution, room turnover, and maintains accurate, compliant documentation across STS, ERP, nutrient, calibration, maintenance, and waste logs. This role requires adaptability and a team-first mindset, with the ability to support and perform other production, cultivation, or operational duties as assigned, based on training, business needs, and regulatory compliance. Essential Functions Plant Production & Care (35%) Perform advanced vegetative and flowering plant work, including topping, bottoming, pruning, defoliation, transplanting, training, and staging per grow standards. Monitor canopy uniformity and plant health, proactively identifying physiological stress signals and implementing corrective measures to optimize growth outcomes. Conduct precision hand-watering and nutrient delivery protocols in vegetative, mother, and clone rooms, ensuring accurate application per irrigation SOPs. Execute plant movements during room transitions and prepare plant material for audits, production milestones, and compliance requirements. Participate in daily crop walks, observing plant health, growth progress, and environmental conditions, and document findings accurately. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all plant production activities, including waste, maintenance, and cultivation logs, ensuring traceability and operational accountability. Irrigation & Fertigation (20%) Prepare and deliver nutrient solutions with precision, calibrating concentrations to meet crop-specific targets and company protocols. Monitor and adjust EC and pH levels; maintain drip stakes, bench lines, tanks, pumps, and filters. Track runoff metrics, validate drip/runoff targets, perform routine calibration, and respond proactively to system alarms to protect crop performance. Assist in daily equipment maintenance, ensuring proper operation of irrigation, fertigation, and environmental systems, and document maintenance activities. Maintain accurate calibration records and nutrient logs to support traceability and compliance. Interpret irrigation data trends to support crop performance and ensure alignment with SOPs. Integrated Pest Management & Sanitation (15%) Conduct IPM scouting, threshold logging, and biocontrol organism releases to maintain plant health and manage pest pressures. Support climate interventions such as airflow and dehumidification adjustments to maintain optimal environmental conditions. Maintain sanitation and biosecurity standards to reduce pest and pathogen risk. Maintain precise records of all IPM and sanitation activities in full compliance with internal and regulatory standards. Harvest & Turnover (15%) Assist Post-Harvest Team in harvest execution, including plant takedown, staging, drying preparation, and harvest sequencing to meet production KPIs. Reset flower rooms after harvest, including removal of plant debris, equipment staging, and deep cleaning in alignment with SOPs. Segregate, document, and manage waste streams according to company and regulatory requirements.. Environmental Monitoring (10%) Manage environmental control systems, monitoring temperature, humidity, and VPD to maintain optimal growing conditions. Use soil moisture, EC, and pH probes to measure substrate and solution conditions, interpreting data and logging readings accurately. Use environmental data to support decision making to protect plant health and prevent crop stress or pathogen issues. Traceability, Compliance, & Safety (5%) Complete accurate STS and ERP entries for plant movements, cultivation activities, and waste. Maintain label integrity and compliance with plant tag and nutrient tracking requirements. Follow SOPs, GACP-aligned practices, and biosecurity protocols consistently. Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable and ensure safe operation of equipment during maintenance. Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including proper PPE usage, hazard reporting, and participation in required training. Observe processes across plant care, irrigation, IPM, environmental monitoring, and harvest operations, and suggest practical improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, or quality. Please note that the percentage allocations are a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. 1-3+ years of experience in agriculture, cultivation, horticulture, or regulated production environments preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise SOPs. Ability to assist or train Tier I technicians on SOP adherence and documentation accuracy. Hands-on experience with advanced fertigation and irrigation operations, including EC/pH management, nutrient mixing, and system calibration. Experience executing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols and maintaining biosecurity and sanitation standards. Knowledge of and ability to follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable. Proficiency in STS and ERP systems, with the ability to accurately enter, maintain, and reconcile plant tracking, nutrient, and compliance data through digital logs. Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel) Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds multiple times a day. Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods. Ability to work in hot and humid conditions. Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with plant care, irrigation, and harvest activities. Potential exposure to plant-based allergens, including dust and pollen, with controls applied per NIOSH guidance.
