As an Irrigation Specialist, you will support the design, maintenance, and optimization of irrigation systems across our landscaping operations. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient water distribution, system functionality, and landscape health for residential, commercial, or municipal properties. The ideal candidate has strong technical irrigation knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to water conservation and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, repair, and adjust irrigation systems including controllers, valves, heads, piping, and wiring Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation system issues such as leaks, electrical faults, and coverage deficiencies Program, monitor, and adjust irrigation controllers to optimize watering schedules and water efficiency Perform seasonal irrigation startup, winterization, and system audits Ensure irrigation systems comply with local water regulations and conservation practices Coordinate with landscape maintenance, enhancement, and construction teams as needed Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and water usage Communicate system issues, recommendations, and repairs to supervisors or clients clearly and professionally Assist with irrigation installations or system upgrades when required Follow all safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and company policies Performing preventative and diagnostic system checks on an ongoing basis Reporting system check findings to the operations leadership team Understanding client needs while meeting or exceeding expectations Troubleshooting and resolving irrigation issues in a timely and efficient manner Safely operating and maintaining irrigation equipment and all other company property Communicating escalations to the Account Manager and/or Irrigation Manager Maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude with internal and external clientsRequirements:
High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of hands-on experience with irrigation systems Strong knowledge of irrigation components, troubleshooting, and repair techniques Ability to read irrigation plans or system layouts Mechanical and electrical aptitude Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Physical ability to lift equipment, dig, and perform manual work Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Reliable transportationPreferred Skills & Experience:
Experience in commercial or large-scale landscape irrigation systems Irrigation certifications (e.g., Irrigation Technician, Certified Irrigation Technician, or equivalent) Familiarity with leading irrigation brands and controllers (Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, etc.) Experience with smart irrigation technology and water management systems Knowledge of local water regulations and conservation requirements Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities Strong customer service and communication skills Interest in career growth into irrigation management or operations leadership 2 Wire troubleshooting is highly desirable Valid Florida Driver's License and the ability to pass an MVR checkBenefits:
