Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as the sole individual in that role. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our 36 acre farm and outbuildings ensuring that animals are maintained efficiently. (We currently have 5 retiree thoroughbreds/1 donkey and 9 breeding cattle and 10 heifers and baby bulls). All animals are on pasture 24/7. There are outbuildings that support them like two stalls, cow shoot, a hay barn, repair room, and workroom, and half bath that must be maintained and also separate horse shower rack and sink. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and a willingness to learn and adapt to various farming practices. Duties Operate and maintain heavy equipment and power tools necessary for farming tasks. Perform minor mechanical repairs as needed to keep equipment in good working condition. Provide animal care, including feeding, monitoring health, and maintaining clean living conditions and provide for getting cattle to market. Collaborate with team members to ensure all farm activities are completed efficiently and effectively. Skills Knowledge of cattle, horse and pasture care is essential. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance on farming equipment. Experience with pasture mowing is a plus. Proficient in operating heavy equipment safely and effectively. Ability to work in environment with little quidance. Must speak English and have own transport. Competence in using power tools for various farming tasks. Must work well with others working on this small farm part-time as well as the owners who live on the property. We welcome candidates who have the skills and are able to contribute to our agricultural operations as the sole individual in a quiet environment but able to work well with others on the property.
