Job Description

Position Overview My Dragonfly Native Gardens Inc. ("My Dragonfly Gardens" and "MDG") is seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented Hydroponic & Aeroponic Technician to support plant production, operational continuity, and system management within a controlled-environment growing facility. This role emphasizes plant health, sanitation, system consistency, documentation, production continuity, and maintaining a continuous showroom-quality growing environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, operationally aware, coachable, and capable of working within structured growing systems and operational procedures. Core Responsibilities Operate and maintain hydroponic and/or aeroponic growing systems Prepare and monitor nutrient solutions including pH, EC, temperature, and related system metrics Execute crop seeding, transplanting, harvesting, and replant cycles Maintain high sanitation and biosecure growing practices to help minimize pathogen risks Monitor crops daily for signs of nutrient deficiencies, pests, pathogens, or operational abnormalities and report concerns promptly Assist with maintaining environmental consistency and production continuity Help maintain growing areas in continuous showroom-quality condition, including cleanliness, organization, and healthy plant presentation Identify and help troubleshoot irrigation, nutrient delivery, and environmental control issues Maintain organized workspaces, tools, reservoirs, and support equipment Support operational coordination and follow established escalation and communication procedures when needed Occasionally engage with visitors, clients, or facility personnel in a professional and knowledgeable manner Required Qualifications Prior hands-on experience (professional, academic, or practical) with hydroponic, aeroponic, greenhouse, nursery, or controlled-environment growing systems Working knowledge of nutrient management, pH/EC balancing, and system upkeep Strong attention to detail and commitment to plant health and operational consistency Understanding of sanitation practices and pathogen prevention principles within controlled-environment agriculture Ability to work within structured operational procedures and documentation systems Reliable, punctual, and consistent in meeting responsibilities Comfortable performing physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting moderate weight, and working in humid environments Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with MDG leadership Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate daily growing logs and operational records Track plant health observations and report abnormalities promptly Document sanitation activities, maintenance tasks, and operational adjustments Assist with maintaining organized and traceable operational documentation Follow MDG reporting and documentation procedures consistently Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Experience working in institutional, hospitality, educational, or high-visibility environments Familiarity with crop scheduling software or digital logging systems Experience supporting production continuity within controlled-environment operations General understanding of operational workflows and coordinated team environments What We Value operational consistency, accountability, cleanliness, communication, professionalism, teamwork, adaptability, and long-term systems thinking.
